Extra debit card is the first debit card that helps to both build credit and earn reward points. At the end of every month, Extra totals up your purchases and payments and reports them to credit bureaus to build your credit. Extra is compatible with over 10,000+ banks across the United States.
Strategy
Young people starting their life need to build credit, but U.S schools do not provide the financial education they need. Without proper knowledge, financial activities such as building a positive credit score can be extremely intimidating. We have targeted college students and young adults who have little knowledge or experience with personal finance and or credit cards. Extra wants to assist them in building a better financial future.
We created a C-Talk campaign to educate young adults and help them build credit, modeled after the ‘talk’ our parents gave us to prepare for ‘adult activities.’

Banking can never be boring with posters like these. As college students as our viewers, we wanted to make sure attention was grabbed.

The C-Talk Microsite is where one can go to not only get information about Extra Debit cards, and the events of C-Talk, but to seek information about credit in general. At the base of this campaign, we seek to educate.

Student Survey Event

As college students ourselves, we decided to utilize our environment. We planned, advertised, executed, and recorded an on-campus survey booth for the student body at FIT. Our questions were centered around our peers' knowledge of credit, if they own a credit card currently, their habits using their card, and their general emotions regarding credit. We also had a banking professional come sit with us and answer any questions the study body had about personal finances.
